Asia-Pacific Solar technology tenders activity drops 79% in Q1 2022

Asia-Pacific solar technology tenders in Q1 2022 saw 25 tenders announced, marking a drop of 79% over the last four-quarter average of 120, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

The proportion of solar technology tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation with 19 tenders and a 76% share
  2. Consulting & Similar Services: three tenders and a 12% share
  3. Electricity Supply: two tenders and an 8% share
  4. Supply & Erection: one tender and a 4% share.

Pakistan tops Asia-Pacific solar power tenders activity

Pakistan was the top country in the Asia-Pacific region for solar technology tenders recorded in Q1 2022 with 11 tenders and a 44% share, followed by India with ten tenders and a 40% share and Bhutan with two tenders and an 8% share.

Asia-Pacific solar technology tenders in Q1 2022: Top companies by capacity

The top issuers of tenders for the quarter in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:

  1. Philippines Department of Energy (Philippines) and Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam: 2,000MW from one tender
  2. Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (India): 500MW from one tender
  3. Germany Trade And Invest (Germany): 117.38MW capacity from two tenders.
