Asia-Pacific Solar technology tenders activity drops 37% in February 2021

Asia-Pacific solar technology tenders in February 2021 saw 44 tenders announced, marking a drop of 37% over the last 12-month average of 70, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

The proportion of solar technology tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation with 39 tenders and an 88.6% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: three tenders and a 6.8% share
  3. Supply & Erection: one tender and a 2.3% share
  4. Consulting & Similar Services: one tender and a 2.3% share.

India tops Asia-Pacific solar power tenders activity

India was the top country in the Asia-Pacific region for solar technology tenders recorded in February 2021 with 25 tenders and a 56.8% share, followed by Australia with seven tenders and a 15.9% share and Nepal with four tenders and a 9.1% share.

Asia-Pacific solar technology tenders in February 2021: Top issuers by capacity

The top issuers of tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:

  1. Solar Energy Corporation of India (India): 1,885MW from two tenders
  2. Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution (India): 501MW from two tenders
  3. Energy Efficiency Services (India): 449MW capacity from three tenders.
