Asia-Pacific T&D equipment tenders activity down 21% in January 2020

There were 104 T&D equipment tenders announced in the Asia-Pacific region in January 2020, marking a drop of 21% over the last 12-month average of 131, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

T&D Project stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in January 2020 with 238 tenders and a 52.1% share, followed by T&D Equipment with 104 tenders and a 22.8% share and Power Plant with 62 tenders and a 13.6% share during the month.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

1. Supply & Erection: 91 tenders and an 87.5% share
2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 12 tenders and an 11.5% share
3. Project Implementation: one tender and a 1% share.

Thermal is top technology for Asia-Pacific T&D equipment tenders in January 2020

Looking at T&D equipment tenders by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, thermal accounted for five tenders with a 50% share, followed by hydro with three tenders and a 30% share and solar with two tenders and a 20% share.
