T&D Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in Q1 2021 with 152 tenders and a 30.9% share, followed by Power Plant with 129 tenders and a 26.2% share and T&D Project with 126 tenders and a 25.6% share during the quarter.
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 89 tenders and a 70.6% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 33 tenders and a 26.2% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: four tenders and a 3.2% share.
Solar is top technology for Asia-Pacific T&D project tenders in Q1 2021
Looking at T&D project tenders by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, solar accounted for eight tenders with a 72.7% share, followed by hydro with two tenders and an 18.2% share and thermal with one tender and a 9.1% share.

The top issuers of T&D project tenders for the quarter in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:
