Balco Extension Power Plant is a 1,200MW coal fired power project. It is located in Chhattisgarh, India. The project is currently active. It has been developed in multiple phases. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in July 2015.

The project was developed by SEPCO Electric Power Construction and is currently owned by Bharat Aluminium.
It is a steam turbine power plant. The fuel is procured from Gevra and Kusmunda mines of South Eastern Coalfields Ltd.
The project cost is $807.422m.
The project got commissioned in July 2015.
Power Purchase Agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution under a power purchase agreement for a period of 14 years. The contracted capacity is 200MW.
SEPCO Electric Power Construction was selected to render EPC services for the coal fired power project.
Harbin Electric was selected as the turbine supplier for the Coal fired project.
Harbin Electric supplied electric generator for the project.
Harbin Electric supplied steam boiler for the project.
