Balsfjord Substation is a 420kV substation located in Balsfjord, Troms, Norway. The construction works on Balsfjord Substation began in 2017. The project was commissioned in 2018.

Description

The Balsfjord Substation project is an upgrade substation being operated by Statnett SF.

The designed voltage level of the project is 420kV, while the operating voltage level is 420kV. The step-in voltage of the substation is 420kV.

Balsfjord Substation has received approval from Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate to undertake the works on the project.
