The project is currently owned by FAJR Petrochemical.
It is a Gas Turbine with Cogen power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Gas Oil.

Ferrostaal Power Industry was selected to render EPC services for the Bandar Imam Power Plant (Bandar Imam Power Plant Phase II).
Bandar Imam Power Plant (Bandar Imam Power Plant Phase I) is equipped with GE Power GT11N2 gas turbines. The phase consists of 5 gas turbines with 96MW nameplate capacity.
Bandar Imam Power Plant (Bandar Imam Power Plant Phase II) is equipped with GE Power 9E gas turbines. The phase consists of 2 gas turbines with 123MW nameplate capacity.
