Benmore – Haywards HVDC Line is a 350kV overhead line with a length of 572km from Benmore, Canterbury, New Zealand, to Haywards, Wellington, New Zealand.

The project, which is currently in the planning stage, is expected to be commissioned in 2021.

Description

Benmore – Haywards HVDC Line is an overhead line that will be operated by Transpower New Zealand. The line will carry direct current (AC) through double circuit cable.

Approximately $209.08m was financed by the authorities to undertake the construction works of the project.
