Blenio is a 411MW hydro power project. It is located on Cellina river/basin in Switzerland. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. The project construction commenced in 1959 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 1962.

Alpiq Holding, Axpo Power, Elektrizitatswerk der Stadt Zurich, BKW Energie, Industrielle Werke Basel and Energie Wasser Bern are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 17%, 17%, 17%, 12%, 12% and 5% respectively.
The hydro reservoir capacity is 107 million cubic meter. Blenio underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 2010-2011. The project generated 835 GWh of electricity.

GE Renewable Energy was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 6 units of pelton turbines, each with 50MW nameplate capacity.
