Description

The project was developed by Geo Energetica and Raizen Energia. The project is currently owned by Raizen Energia.

The project generates 138GWh of electricity. The project cost is $91.041m.

The process of anaerobic digestion has been adopted in this project to release the stored energy from the feed. Agricultural by-product and bagasse are used as a feedstock to power the project.

About Raizen Energia

Raizen is a Brazilian joint venture between Royal Dutch Shell Plc and Cosan SA. Raizen has the capacity to produce over 2.2 billion liters of ethanol per year. It also has 23 mills with 900 MW of installed capacity to produce electric power from sugarcane bagasse. In addition, Raizen is resonsible to sell approximately 20 billion liters of fuels to the transportation and industry markets and to its network of over 4,500 service stations.
