Bowala Nand Prayag is a run-of-river project. The gross head and net head of the project will be 154.5m and 138.9m respectively. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, is expected to be 4 in number. The penstock length will be 226m. The penstock diameter will be 3m. The project is expected to generate 1,343.1 GWh of electricity. The project cost is expected to be around $359.01m.
The hydro power project consists of 4 turbines, each with 75MW nameplate capacity.
The project will have 4 electric generators installed at the project site. The generator capacity is likely to be 83.33 MVA.
The project construction is expected to commence from 2022. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2025.
