Candelaria Power Plant is a 270MW gas fired power project. It is located in Libertador General Bernardo O’Higgins, Chile. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in 2005.

Description

The project is currently owned by Colbun with a stake of 100%.

It is a Gas Turbine power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Diesel.

The project generated 312,642MWh of electricity.

Development Status

The project got commissioned in 2005.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Sistema Interconectado Central under a power purchase agreement.

GE Power was selected as the turbine supplier for the Gas fired project. The company provided 1 unit of PG9171E gas turbine with 133MW nameplate capacity.
