The project is being developed and currently owned by Jujuy Energia y Mineria Sociedad del Estado, Power Construction Corporation of China and Shanghai Electric Power Construction. The owners have 33% stake in the project respectively.

Cauchari Solar PV Park Expansion is a ground-mounted solar project.

The project is expected to generate 720,500MWh electricity and supply enough clean energy to power 170,000 households. The project is expected to offset 129,500,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is expected to be around $231m.
