The CEIP Battery Energy Storage System is a 65,000kW energy storage project located in Ewa, O’ahu, Hawaii, US. The rated storage capacity of the project is 390,000kWh.

The electro-chemical battery energy storage project uses lithium-ion as its storage technology. The project will be commissioned in 2022.


The CEIP Battery Energy Storage System is owned by Hawaiian Electric (100%), a subsidiary of Hawaiian Electric Industries.

The key application of the project is load-shifting and contingency.
