Centrica has plans to build a single 100 MW battery energy storage system in Ireland for delivery by 2022 to take advantage of capacity market and grid services opportunities currently under development. The project is said to be at the early stages of development, with planning documents submitted in three locations – Kilkenny, Athlone in Westmeath and Cahir in Tipperary.
