CEPO Handa Biomass-Fired Power Plant is a 50MW biopower project. It is located in Aichi, Japan. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in October 2019.

The project was developed by CEPO Handa Biomass Power Generation. Cenergy and Fuluhashi EPO are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 90% and 10% respectively.

The project generates 370GWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 119,000 households, offsetting 150,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $210.725m.

The process of combustion has been adopted in this project to release the stored energy from the feed. Agricultural by-product and wood by-product are used as a feedstock to power the project.

Development Status

The project got commissioned in October 2019.
