The project is currently owned by Covanta Holding.
The project generates 219GWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 20,000 households.
Refuse which is a kind of municipal solid waste is used as a feedstock to power the project.
Development Status
The project got commissioned in December 1991.
Power Purchase Agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Long Island Power Authority under a power purchase agreement, starting from 2012.

ABB was selected as the steam turbine supplier for the project. The company provided 1 turbine with 25MW nameplate capacity.
