Desert Quartzite Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is planned over 2,673 acres.
The project is expected to supply enough clean energy to power 163,000 households, to offset 669,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is expected to be around $1,000m.
The project construction is expected to commence from 2022. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by March 2023.
Power Purchase Agreement
The power generated from the project will be sold to Clean Power Alliance under a power purchase agreement for a period of 15 years, starting from 2024.
First Solar will be the supplier of PV modules for the solar power project.
Desert Quartzite is expected to perform operations and maintenance for the solar PV power project.
