Doha East Power Plant I is a 1,050MW oil fired power project. It is located in Al Ahmadi, Kuwait. The project is currently active. It has been developed in multiple phases. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in June 1977.

The project is currently owned by Ministry of Electricity and Water with a stake of 100%.
It is a Steam Turbine power plant that is used for Baseload. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is heavy fuel oil. In case of shortage of heavy fuel oil the plant can also run on Crude Oil.

ABB, IHI and Toshiba Energy Systems and Solutions were selected to render EPC services for the oil fired power project.
Toshiba Energy Systems and Solutions was selected as the turbine supplier for the Oil fired project. The company supplied Tandem compound 2- cylinders; Double flow exhaust model turbines for the project.
Toshiba Energy Systems and Solutions supplied electric generator for the project.
IHI supplied steam boiler for the project.
