Eau Claire Substation is a 345/161kV substation located in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, US. The construction works on Eau Claire Substation began in 2019. The project was commissioned in 2020.

Description

The Eau Claire Substation project is a new substation being operated by Xcel Energy.

The designed voltage level of the project is 345/161kV, while the operating voltage level is 345/161kV. The step-in voltage of the substation is 345kV and the step-out voltage is 161kV.

Eau Claire Substation has received approval from Public Service Commission of Wisconsin to undertake the works on the project. Approximately $1.5m was financed by the authorities for the construction works of the project.
