Energy storage tenders in July 2021 saw 24 tenders announced, marking a rise of 4% over the last 12-month average of 23, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 13 tenders and a 54.2% share
  2. Supply & Erection: 11 tenders and a 45.8% share.

North America leads energy storage activity in July 2021

Comparing tenders activity in energy storage segment in different regions of the globe, North America held the top position with 13 tenders and a share of 54.2% during July 2021, followed by Asia-Pacific with four tenders and a 16.7% share and Europe with four tenders and a 16.7% share.

Solar is leading technology for energy storage tenders in July 2021

Among the technologies, solar accounted for ten tenders with a 90.9% share, followed by wind with one tender and a 9.1% share.

Energy storage tenders in July 2021: Top companies by capacity

The top issuers of energy storage tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved were:

  1. Arise IIP: 390MW from one tender
  2. Lumea: 300MW from one tender
  3. District of Summerland: 1MW capacity from one tender.
