Europe generation equipment contracts activity down 27% in April 2022

There were 22 generation equipment contracts announced in the Europe region in April 2022, marking a drop of 27% over the last 12-month average of 30, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

Generation Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Europe region in April 2022 with 22 contracts and a 25.6% share, followed by Power Plant with 22 contracts and a 25.6% share and T&D Equipment with 14 contracts and a 16.3% share during the month.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 15 contracts and a 68.2% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: five contracts and a 22.7% share
  3. Consulting & Similar Services: one contract and a 4.5% share
  4. Project Implementation: one contract and a 4.5% share.

Wind is top technology for Europe generation equipment contracts in April 2022

Looking at generation equipment contracts by the type of technology in the Europe region, wind accounted for nine contracts with a 40.9% share, followed by solar with five contracts and a 22.7% share and nuclear with four contracts and an 18.2% share.
