Europe generation equipment contracts activity down 12% in February 2021

There were 37 generation equipment contracts announced in the Europe region in February 2021, marking a drop of 12% over the last 12-month average of 42, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

Generation Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Europe region in February 2021 with 37 contracts and a 33.6% share, followed by Power Plant with 27 contracts and a 24.5% share and Electricity Procurement with 15 contracts and a 13.6% share during the month.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 31 contracts and an 83.8% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: four contracts and a 10.8% share
  3. Consulting & Similar Services: one contract and a 2.7% share
  4. Project Implementation: one contract and a 2.7% share.

Wind is top technology for Europe generation equipment contracts in February 2021

Looking at generation equipment contracts by the type of technology in the Europe region, wind accounted for 25 contracts with a 67.6% share, followed by hydro with four contracts and a 10.8% share and thermal with four contracts and a 10.8% share.
