Europe generation equipment contracts activity up 41% in September 2020

There were 52 generation equipment contracts announced in the Europe region in September 2020, marking a rise of 41% over the last 12-month average of 37, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

Generation Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Europe region in September 2020 with 52 contracts and a 38.2% share, followed by T&D Equipment with 27 contracts and a 19.9% share and Power Plant with 24 contracts and a 17.6% share during the month.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 45 contracts and an 86.5% share
  2. Consulting & Similar Services: three contracts and a 5.8% share
  3. Project Implementation: two contracts and a 3.8% share
  4. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: two contracts and a 3.8% share.

Wind is top technology for Europe generation equipment contracts in September 2020

Looking at generation equipment contracts by the type of technology in the Europe region, wind accounted for 28 contracts with a 53.8% share, followed by thermal with ten contracts and a 19.2% share and hydro with six contracts and an 11.5% share.
