Europe power industry contracts in June 2021: France leads activity
Looking at contracts by country, France led the activity in June 2021 with 46 contracts and a share of 28.9%, up 26.9% over the previous month and up 39% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by Spain with 16 contracts and a share of 10.1% and the UK with 15 contracts and a share of 9.4% during the month.
Looking at the last 12-month average, France held the top spot with 33 contracts, followed by the UK with 26 and Spain with 19 contracts.

Solar is top technology area for contracts in June 2021
Looking at contracts divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with 68 contracts and a 46.3% share, followed by wind with 65 contracts and a 44.2% share and thermal with five contracts and a 3.4% share.
Looking at power industry contracts divided by segment in Europe as tracked by GlobalData, Power Plant was the most popular segment in June 2021, with 75 contracts, followed by Generation Equipment (45) and Electricity Procurement (23).
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 61 contracts and a 38.4% share
- Supply & Erection: 39 contracts and a 24.5% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: 23 contracts and a 14.5% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: 18 contracts and an 11.3% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 17 contracts and a 10.7% share
- Others: one contract and a 0.6% share.

The top issuers of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:
- Urzad Regulacji Energetyki (Poland): 1,197MW from one contract
- Lausitz Energie Bergbau (Germany): 300MW from one contract
- Hydro Energy (Norway): 182MW capacity from one contract.

The top winners of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:
- Northland Power (Canada) and Polski Koncern Naftowy Orlen (Poland): 1,197MW from one contract
- Siemens Energy (Germany): 300MW from one contract
- Eolus Vind (Sweden): 182MW capacity from one contract.
