Europe power industry contracts in November 2019: The UK leads activity

Looking at contracts by country, the UK led the activity in November 2019 with 12 contracts and a share of 15.4%, down 0.1% over the previous month and down 8% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by Germany with nine contracts and a share of 11.5% and Turkey with eight contracts and a share of 10.3% during the month.

Looking at the last 12-month average, France held the top spot with 39 contracts, followed by the UK with 13 and Greece with eight contracts.

Wind is top technology area for contracts in November 2019

Looking at contracts divided by the type of technology, wind accounted for the largest proportion with 29 contracts and a 45.3% share, followed by solar with 12 contracts and an 18.8% share and thermal with 12 contracts and an 18.8% share.

Looking at power industry contracts divided by segment in Europe as tracked by GlobalData, Generation Equipment was the most popular segment in November 2019, with 41 contracts, followed by T&D Equipment (15) and Power Plant (13).

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 51 contracts and a 65.4% share
  2. Project Implementation: nine contracts and an 11.5% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: eight contracts and a 10.3% share
  4. Consulting & Similar Services: five contracts and a 6.4% share
  5. Power Purchase Agreement: five contracts and a 6.4% share.
