Europe power industry contracts in Q4 2019: France leads activity

Looking at contracts by country, France led the activity in Q4 2019 with 59 contracts and a share of 16.9%, down 28.4% over the previous quarter and down 46% when compared with the last four-quarter average, followed by the UK with 41 contracts and a share of 11.7% and Greece with 35 contracts and a share of 10% during the quarter.

Looking at the last four-quarter average, France held the top spot with 109 contracts, followed by the UK with 39 and Greece with 25 contracts.

Wind is top technology area for contracts in Q4 2019

Looking at contracts divided by the type of technology, wind accounted for the largest proportion with 126 contracts and a 43.8% share, followed by solar with 111 contracts and a 38.5% share and thermal with 21 contracts and a 7.3% share.

Looking at power industry contracts divided by segment as tracked by GlobalData, Power Plant was the most popular segment in Europe power contracts activity during Q4 2019, with 132 contracts, followed by Generation Equipment (97) and T&D Equipment (53).

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:
