Europe power industry contracts in September 2020: The UK leads activity
Looking at contracts by country, the UK led the activity in September 2020 with 19 contracts and a share of 15.4%, up 3.2% over the previous month and up 19% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by Spain with 12 contracts and a share of 9.8% and Germany with 11 contracts and a share of 8.9% during the month.
Looking at the last 12-month average, France held the top spot with 37 contracts, followed by the UK with 16 and Germany with 11 contracts.

Wind is top technology area for contracts in September 2020
Looking at contracts divided by the type of technology, wind accounted for the largest proportion with 47 contracts and a 50.5% share, followed by solar with 23 contracts and a 24.7% share and thermal with 11 contracts and an 11.8% share.
Looking at power industry contracts divided by segment in Europe as tracked by GlobalData, Generation Equipment was the most popular segment in September 2020, with 52 contracts, followed by T&D Equipment (27) and Power Plant (24).
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Supply & Erection: 74 contracts and a 60.2% share
- Project Implementation: 18 contracts and a 14.6% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: 12 contracts and a 9.8% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: 11 contracts and an 8.9% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: six contracts and a 4.9% share
- Electricity Supply: two contracts and a 1.6% share.
