Europe power industry tenders in August 2020: Poland leads activity
Looking at tenders by country, Poland led the activity in August 2020 with 32 tenders and a share of 28.6%, down 6.1% over the previous month and up 7% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by the UK with 12 tenders and a share of 10.7% and Germany with 12 tenders and a share of 10.7% during the month.
Looking at the last 12-month average, Poland held the top spot with 30 tenders, followed by Germany with eight and France with four tenders.

Solar is top technology area for tenders in August 2020
Looking at tenders divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with 23 tenders and a 37.7% share, followed by thermal with 21 tenders and a 34.4% share and hydro with six tenders and a 9.8% share.
Looking at power industry tenders divided by segment in Europe as tracked by GlobalData, Power Plant was the most popular segment in August 2020, with 27 tenders, followed by T&D Project (27) and T&D Equipment (23).
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 46 tenders and a 41.1% share
- Supply & Erection: 45 tenders and a 40.2% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: ten tenders and an 8.9% share
- Others: four tenders and a 3.6% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: three tenders and a 2.7% share
- Electricity Supply: three tenders and a 2.7% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: one tender and a 0.9% share.
Power tenders in August 2020: Top issuers by capacity
The top issuers of tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:
- Ministry of Climate (Poland): 3,200MW from one tender
- Hrvatski Operator Trzista Energije (Croatia): 88MW from one tender
- Arkadikos Ilios Ena: 50MW capacity from one tender.
