Europe power industry tenders in February 2020: Poland leads activity
Looking at tenders by country, Poland led the activity in February 2020 with 30 tenders and a share of 46.9%, up 13.6% over the previous month and up 7% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by Austria with four tenders and a share of 6.3% and the UK with four tenders and a share of 6.3% during the month.
Looking at the last 12-month average, Poland held the top spot with 28 tenders, followed by Germany with eight and France with three tenders.

Thermal is top technology area for tenders in February 2020
Looking at tenders divided by the type of technology, thermal accounted for the largest proportion with 12 tenders and a 44.4% share, followed by hydro with five tenders and an 18.5% share and solar with four tenders and a 14.8% share.
Looking at power industry tenders divided by segment in Europe as tracked by GlobalData, T&D Project was the most popular segment in February 2020, with 23 tenders, followed by Generation Equipment (15) and T&D Equipment (13).
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 26 tenders and a 40.6% share
- Supply & Erection: 19 tenders and a 29.7% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 14 tenders and a 21.9% share
- Electricity Supply: three tenders and a 4.7% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: two tenders and a 3.1% share.
Power tenders in February 2020: Top companies by capacity
The top issuers of tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:
- OBB-Infrastruktur (Austria): 130MW from one tender
- Polska Grupa Gornicza (Poland): 4MW from one tender
- Forestry Commission: 0.14MW capacity from one tender.
