Europe power industry tenders in June 2021: Poland leads activity

Looking at tenders by country, Poland led the activity in June 2021 with 29 tenders and a share of 25.7%, up 4.8% over the previous month and up 7% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by Germany with 14 tenders and a share of 12.4% and the UK with 11 tenders and a share of 9.7% during the month.

Looking at the last 12-month average, Poland held the top spot with 27 tenders, followed by Germany with ten and France with eight tenders.

Solar is top technology area for tenders in June 2021

Looking at tenders divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with 28 tenders and a 50.9% share, followed by thermal with 13 tenders and a 23.6% share and wind with seven tenders and a 12.7% share.

Looking at power industry tenders divided by segment in Europe as tracked by GlobalData, Power Plant was the most popular segment in June 2021, with 36 tenders, followed by T&D Project (27) and T&D Equipment (23).

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 45 tenders and a 39.8% share
  2. Project Implementation: 43 tenders and a 38.1% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 14 tenders and a 12.4% share
  4. Consulting & Similar Services: nine tenders and an 8% share
  5. Others: two tenders and a 1.8% share.

Power tenders in June 2021: Top issuers by capacity

The top issuers of tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:

  1. Netherlands Enterprise Agency (Netherlands): 4,000MW from one tender
  2. Ministry of Environment and Energy: 700MW from one tender
  3. City & County of Swansea: 3MW capacity from one tender.
