Europe power industry tenders in March 2021: Poland leads activity
Looking at tenders by country, Poland led the activity in March 2021 with 20 tenders and a share of 22.2%, up 9.3% over the previous month and down 29% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by France with 11 tenders and a share of 12.2% and Belgium with six tenders and a share of 6.7% during the month.
Looking at the last 12-month average, Poland held the top spot with 28 tenders, followed by Germany with nine and France with five tenders.

Solar is top technology area for tenders in March 2021
Looking at tenders divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with 22 tenders and a 47.8% share, followed by thermal with 17 tenders and a 37% share and nuclear with three tenders and a 6.5% share.
Looking at power industry tenders divided by segment in Europe as tracked by GlobalData, Power Plant was the most popular segment in March 2021, with 26 tenders, followed by T&D Project (23) and T&D Equipment (21).
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 40 tenders and a 44.4% share
- Supply & Erection: 32 tenders and a 35.6% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 12 tenders and a 13.3% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: four tenders and a 4.4% share
- Others: two tenders and a 2.2% share.
Power tenders in March 2021: Top issuers by capacity
The top issuers of tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:
- PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna (Poland): 150MW from one tender
- EDF Renouvelables (France): 19MW from one tender
- CNES: 5MW capacity from one tender.
