Europe power industry tenders in May 2020: Poland leads activity
Looking at tenders by country, Poland led the activity in May 2020 with 30 tenders and a share of 31.3%, down 0.3% over the previous month and flat growth when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by Romania with four tenders and a share of 4.2% and Austria with four tenders and a share of 4.2% during the month.
Looking at the last 12-month average, Poland held the top spot with 30 tenders, followed by Germany with seven and France with three tenders.

Thermal is top technology area for tenders in May 2020
Looking at tenders divided by the type of technology, thermal accounted for the largest proportion with 17 tenders and a 42.5% share, followed by solar with 15 tenders and a 37.5% share and hydro with four tenders and a 10% share.
Looking at power industry tenders divided by segment in Europe as tracked by GlobalData, T&D Equipment was the most popular segment in May 2020, with 23 tenders, followed by T&D Project (22) and Power Plant (19).
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Supply & Erection: 38 tenders and a 39.6% share
- Project Implementation: 31 tenders and a 32.3% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 14 tenders and a 14.6% share
- Electricity Supply: six tenders and a 6.3% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: five tenders and a 5.2% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: two tenders and a 2.1% share.

The top issuers of tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:
- The Regulatory Authority for Energy (Greece): 963.48MW from two tenders
- VERBUND Hydro Power (Austria): 480MW from one tender
- EDF Renouvelables (France): 19MW capacity from one tender.
