Europe power industry tenders in October 2019: Poland leads activity

Looking at tenders by country, Poland led the activity in October 2019 with 22 tenders and a share of 40.7%, up 4.6% over the previous month and down 33% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by Switzerland with six tenders and a share of 11.1% and Russian Federation with four tenders and a share of 7.4% during the month.

Looking at the last 12-month average, Poland held the top spot with 33 tenders, followed by Germany with six and Russian Federation with five tenders.

Thermal is top technology area for tenders in October 2019

Looking at tenders divided by the type of technology, thermal accounted for the largest proportion with eight tenders and a 28.6% share, followed by wind with eight tenders and a 28.6% share and biopower with five tenders and a 17.9% share.

Looking at power industry tenders divided by segment in Europe as tracked by GlobalData, T&D Equipment was the most popular segment in October 2019, with 18 tenders, followed by T&D Project (13) and Generation Equipment (12).

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 20 tenders and a 37% share
