Europe power industry tenders in Q2 2021: Poland leads activity
Looking at tenders by country, Poland led the activity in Q2 2021 with 80 tenders and a share of 24.6%, up 9.8% over the previous quarter and down 5% when compared with the last four-quarter average, followed by Germany with 38 tenders and a share of 11.7% and France with 28 tenders and a share of 8.6% during the quarter.
Looking at the last four-quarter average, Poland held the top spot with 84 tenders, followed by Germany with 28 and France with 20 tenders.

Solar is top technology area for tenders in Q2 2021
Looking at tenders divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with 73 tenders and a 45.9% share, followed by thermal with 29 tenders and an 18.2% share and wind with 20 tenders and a 12.6% share.
Looking at power industry tenders divided by segment as tracked by GlobalData, Power Plant was the most popular segment in Europe power tenders activity during Q2 2021, with 88 tenders, followed by T&D Project (84) and T&D Equipment (74).
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:
- Supply & Erection: 131 tenders and a 40.3% share
- Project Implementation: 122 tenders and a 37.5% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 30 tenders and a 9.2% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: 28 tenders and an 8.6% share
- Electricity Supply: eight tenders and a 2.5% share
- Others: five tenders and a 1.5% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: one tender and a 0.3% share.
Power tenders in Q2 2021: Top issuers by capacity
The top issuers of tenders for the quarter in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:
- Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Turkey (Turkey) and Netherlands Enterprise Agency (Netherlands): 4,000MW from one tender
- Ministry of Environment and Energy: 700MW from one tender
- Ministro do Ambiente e da Transicao Energetica (Portugal): 500MW capacity from one tender.
