Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Europe region in Q1 2022 with 80 contracts and a 30.5% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 62 contracts and a 23.7% share and Electricity Procurement with 57 contracts and a 21.8% share during the quarter.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 57 contracts and a 71.3% share
  2. Consulting & Similar Services: 21 contracts and a 26.3% share
  3. Power Purchase Agreement: one contract and a 1.3% share
  4. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: one contract and a 1.3% share.

Wind is top technology for Europe power plant contracts in Q1 2022

Looking at power plant contracts by the type of technology in the Europe region, wind accounted for 38 contracts with a 47.5% share, followed by solar with 32 contracts and a 40% share and thermal with three contracts and a 3.8% share.

The top issuers of power plant contracts for the quarter in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:

  1. Crown Estate Scotland: 24,841MW from 18 contracts
  2. BeGreen (Denmark): 328.7MW from one contract
  3. Valorem (France): 313.5MW capacity from two contracts.
