Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Europe region in August 2020 with 109 contracts and a 53.4% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 35 contracts and a 17.2% share and T&D Equipment with 31 contracts and a 15.2% share during the month.
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 102 contracts and a 93.6% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: six contracts and a 5.5% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: one contract and a 0.9% share.
Solar is top technology for Europe power plant contracts in August 2020
Looking at power plant contracts by the type of technology in the Europe region, solar accounted for 77 contracts with a 70.6% share, followed by wind with 25 contracts and a 22.9% share and thermal with four contracts and a 3.7% share.

The top issuers of power plant contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:
- Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment (Ireland): 1,275.54MW from 82 contracts
- Elektrocieplownia Stalowa Wola (Poland): 450MW from one contract
- Heartland (United States): 200MW capacity from one contract.
