Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Europe region in January 2021 with 72 contracts and a 51.1% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 23 contracts and a 16.3% share and T&D Equipment with 21 contracts and a 14.9% share during the month.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 64 contracts and an 88.9% share
  2. Consulting & Similar Services: eight contracts and an 11.1% share.

Solar is top technology for Europe power plant contracts in January 2021

Looking at power plant contracts by the type of technology in the Europe region, solar accounted for 61 contracts with an 84.7% share, followed by wind with eight contracts and an 11.1% share and nuclear with two contracts and a 2.8% share.

The top issuers of power plant contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:

  1. Gresham House and PPC Renewables (Greece): 200MW from one contract
  2. Ministere de la transition ecologique et solidaire (France): 95.19MW from 56 contracts
  3. Greenalia Wind Power Ourol SLU (Spain): 74.22MW capacity from one contract.
