Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Europe region in Q2 2020 with 294 contracts and a 48.7% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 121 contracts and a 20% share and T&D Equipment with 102 contracts and a 16.9% share during the quarter.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 263 contracts and an 89.5% share
  2. Consulting & Similar Services: 21 contracts and a 7.1% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: ten contracts and a 3.4% share.

Solar is top technology for Europe power plant contracts in Q2 2020

Looking at power plant contracts by the type of technology in the Europe region, solar accounted for 215 contracts with a 73.1% share, followed by wind with 57 contracts and a 19.4% share and nuclear with ten contracts and a 3.4% share.

The top issuers of power plant contracts for the quarter in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:

  1. Ministere de l’Environnement, de l’Energie et de la Mer (France): 1,490.51MW from 161 contracts
  2. The Regulatory Authority for Energy (Greece): 502.94MW from five contracts
  3. Ministere de la transition ecologique et solidaire (France): 180.77MW capacity from 66 contracts.

The top winners of contracts for the quarter in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:

  1. China Gezhouba Group (China): 320MW from two contracts
  2. Iliako Velos Ena (Greece): 200MW from one contract
  3. Aeoliki Vermiou EU (Greece): 153MW capacity from one contract.
