Europe power plant tenders activity up 14% in February 2021

There were 25 power plant tenders announced in the Europe region in February 2021, marking a rise of 14% over the last 12-month average of 22, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

T&D Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Europe region in February 2021 with 34 tenders and a 28.6% share, followed by T&D Project with 28 tenders and a 23.5% share and Power Plant with 25 tenders and a 21% share during the month.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 22 tenders and an 88% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: one tender and a 4% share
  3. Supply & Erection: one tender and a 4% share
  4. Consulting & Similar Services: one tender and a 4% share.

Solar is top technology for Europe power plant tenders in February 2021

Looking at power plant tenders by the type of technology in the Europe region, solar accounted for 18 tenders with a 72% share, followed by wind with four tenders and a 16% share and thermal with two tenders and an 8% share.

Europe power plant tenders in February 2021: Top issuers by capacity

The top issuers of power plant tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:

  1. Ministere de l’Environnement, de l’Energie et de la Mer (France): 700MW from one tender
  2. Government of Russia (Russia): 500MW from one tender
  3. Elektrani na Makedonija (Macedonia): 100MW capacity from one tender.
