The proportion of solar technology contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation with 17 contracts and a 42.5% share
  2. Power Purchase Agreement: 15 contracts and a 37.5% share
  3. Supply & Erection: seven contracts and a 17.5% share
  4. Electricity Supply: one contract and a 2.5% share.

Spain tops Europe solar power contracts activity

Spain was the top country in the Europe region for solar technology contracts recorded in December 2021 with eight contracts and a 20% share, followed by Bosnia and Herzegovina with seven contracts and a 17.5% share and Germany with six contracts and a 15% share.

The top issuers of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:

  1. Iberdrola (Spain): 740MW from two contracts
  2. Amazon Web Services (United States): 670MW from two contracts
  3. Georgian Energy Development Fund (Georgia): 100MW capacity from one contract.

  1. OPDE Holding (Spain): 750MW from one contract
  2. Abengoa (Spain): 740MW from two contracts
