Europe Solar technology contracts activity drops 58% in October 2021

Europe solar technology contracts in October 2021 saw 25 contracts announced, marking a drop of 58% over the last 12-month average of 60, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

The proportion of solar technology contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

1. Project Implementation with 19 contracts and a 76% share
2. Power Purchase Agreement: four contracts and a 16% share
3. Supply & Erection: two contracts and an 8% share.

Spain tops Europe solar power contracts activity

Spain was the top country in the Europe region for solar technology contracts recorded in October 2021 with 18 contracts and a 72% share, followed by Sweden with three contracts and a 12% share and France with two contracts and an 8% share.

The top issuers of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:

1. Ministry for the Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge (Spain): 581.57MW from 15 contracts
2. Dow (United States): 47MW from one contract
3. Axfood: 40MW capacity from one contract.

The top winners of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:

1. Naturgy Renovables (Spain): 221.4MW from three contracts
2. Ignis Desarrollo (Spain): 144.11MW from four contracts
3. Bruc Energy SLU (Spain): 100MW capacity from three contracts.
