Europe Solar technology contracts activity rises 1% in June 2021

Europe solar technology contracts in June 2021 saw 68 contracts announced, marking a rise of 1% over the last 12-month average of 67, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

The proportion of solar technology contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation with 51 contracts and a 75% share
  2. Power Purchase Agreement: nine contracts and a 13.2% share
  3. Supply & Erection: five contracts and a 7.4% share
  4. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: two contracts and a 2.9% share
  5. Consulting & Similar Services: one contract and a 1.5% share.

France tops Europe solar power contracts activity

France was the top country in the Europe region for solar technology contracts recorded in June 2021 with 42 contracts and a 61.8% share, followed by Spain with nine contracts and a 13.2% share and Sweden with seven contracts and a 10.3% share.

Europe solar technology contracts in June 2021: Top issuers by capacity

The top issuers of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:

  1. EnBW Energie Baden-Wurttemberg (Germany): 150MW from one contract
  2. Bord Gais Energy (Ireland): 118MW from one contract
  3. Elektrani na Severna Makedonija (Macedonia): 100MW capacity from two contracts.

Europe solar technology contracts in June 2021: Top winners by capacity

The top winners of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:

  1. Blue Elephant Energy (Germany): 150MW from one contract
  2. Obton (Denmark) and Shannon Energy (Ireland): 118MW from one contract
  3. Solarpro Holding (Bulgaria), Aquila Capital Management (Germany) and Fortis Enerji Elektrik Uretim (Turkey): 50MW capacity from one contract.
