Europe Solar technology contracts activity drops 62% in September 2020

Europe solar technology contracts in September 2020 saw 23 contracts announced, marking a drop of 62% over the last 12-month average of 61, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

The proportion of solar technology contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation with 12 contracts and a 52.2% share
  2. Power Purchase Agreement: eight contracts and a 34.8% share
  3. Supply & Erection: two contracts and an 8.7% share
  4. Consulting & Similar Services: one contract and a 4.3% share.

Spain tops Europe solar power contracts activity

Spain was the top country in the Europe region for solar technology contracts recorded in September 2020 with eight contracts and a 34.8% share, followed by Poland with five contracts and a 21.7% share and the Netherlands with three contracts and a 13% share.

Europe solar technology contracts in September 2020: Top issuers by capacity

The top issuers of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:

  1. Total (France): 3,300MW from one contract
  2. Gmina Puchaczow: 892MW from one contract
  3. Axpo Iberia (Spain): 150MW capacity from one contract.

The top winners of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:

  1. Ignis Energia (Spain): 3,300MW from one contract
  2. ML System (Poland): 892MW from one contract
  3. Solaria Energia y Medio Ambiente (Spain): 150MW capacity from one contract.
