Europe Solar technology tenders activity rises 49% in Q3 2021

Europe solar technology tenders in Q3 2021 saw 104 tenders announced, marking a rise of 49% over the last four-quarter average of 70, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

The proportion of solar technology tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation with 86 tenders and an 82.7% share
  2. Supply & Erection: 12 tenders and an 11.5% share
  3. Power Purchase Agreement: two tenders and a 1.9% share
  4. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: two tenders and a 1.9% share
  5. Consulting & Similar Services: one tender and a 1% share
  6. Electricity Supply: one tender and a 1% share.

France tops Europe solar power tenders activity

France was the top country in the Europe region for solar technology tenders recorded in Q3 2021 with 39 tenders and a 37.5% share, followed by Poland with 13 tenders and a 12.5% share and the UK with nine tenders and an 8.7% share.

Europe solar technology tenders in Q3 2021: Top companies by capacity

The top issuers of tenders for the quarter in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:

  1. Ministere de l’Environnement, de l’Energie et de la Mer (France): 17,325MW from 34 tenders
  2. Russian Association of Wind Power Industry (Russia): 6,700MW from one tender
  3. Ministry for the Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge (Spain): 3,300MW capacity from one tender.
