Europe Solar technology tenders activity rises 97% in Q3 2020

Europe solar technology tenders in Q3 2020 saw 63 tenders announced, marking a rise of 97% over the last four-quarter average of 32, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

The proportion of solar technology tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation with 47 tenders and a 74.6% share
  2. Supply & Erection: 11 tenders and a 17.5% share
  3. Consulting & Similar Services: two tenders and a 3.2% share
  4. Electricity Supply: two tenders and a 3.2% share
  5. Power Purchase Agreement: one tender and a 1.6% share.

Poland tops Europe solar power tenders activity

Poland was the top country in the Europe region for solar technology tenders recorded in Q3 2020 with 26 tenders and a 41.3% share, followed by the UK with eight tenders and a 12.7% share and Germany with six tenders and a 9.5% share.

Europe solar technology tenders in Q3 2020: Top issuers by capacity

The top issuers of tenders for the quarter in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:

  1. Bundesnetzagentur (Germany): 19,450MW from two tenders
  2. Ministry of Climate (Poland): 3,200MW from one tender
  3. Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Turkey (Turkey): 1,000MW capacity from one tender.
