Europe T&D equipment contracts activity down 41% in Q4 2021

There were 32 T&D equipment contracts announced in the Europe region in Q4 2021, marking a drop of 41% over the last four-quarter average of 54, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Europe region in Q4 2021 with 161 contracts and a 33.5% share, followed by Electricity Procurement with 151 contracts and a 31.5% share and Generation Equipment with 102 contracts and a 21.3% share during the quarter.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 29 contracts and a 90.6% share
  2. Project Implementation: two contracts and a 6.3% share
  3. Consulting & Similar Services: one contract and a 3.1% share.

Wind is top technology for Europe T&D equipment contracts in Q4 2021

Looking at T&D equipment contracts by the type of technology in the Europe region, wind accounted for 11 contracts with a 78.6% share, followed by biopower with one contract and a 7.1% share and hydro with one contract and a 7.1% share.
