The project was developed by EDF Renewables, North British Windpower and Wind Prospect Group. EDF Renewables and Hermes GPE are currently owning the project.
The project generates 378,432MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 90,103 households. The project cost is $333.792m.

Contractors Involved
Vestas Wind Systems was selected as the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The company provided 48 units of V90-3.0 MW turbines, each with 3MW nameplate capacity.

Till date, it has conducted site assessment of over 200 sites through out Scotland. Currently, the company is in the process of building two wind farms namely Margree Windfarm and Ulzieside Windfarm. NBW has submitted a planning application to Dumfries and Galloway Council to develop these wind farm located at Margree, northeast of St John’s Town of Dalry; and Ulzieside located at south of Sanquhar. Margree Windfarm is in the planning stage with over all estimated capacity of 50MW.Ulzieside Windfarm is also in the planning stage with the over all estimated capacity of about 40MW, enough to power more than 20,000 homes. The plant has approximately 20 wind turbines. NBW is headquartered at Edinburgh, the UK.
