Description

The project is co-owned by SSE and Wheelabrator Technologies, with their respective ownership stake of 50% each.

The project supplies enough clean energy to power 160,000 households. The project cost is $505.152m.

The process of combustion has been adopted in this combined heat and power (CHP) project to release the stored energy from the feed. Industrial waste, municipal solid waste and wood by-product are used as a feedstock to power the project.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to SSE under a power purchase agreement.

Contractors Involved

Hitachi Zosen Inova was selected to render EPC services for the biopower project.

Hitachi Zosen Inova supplied steam boiler for the project. The boiler installed at the site has a capacity of 104TPH. The temperature witnessed inside the boiler is around 427°C. The steam is pressurized inside the boiler at 72bar.
