Generation equipment contracts in February 2022 saw 38 contracts announced, marking a drop of 57% over the last 12-month average of 88, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 31 contracts and an 81.6% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: five contracts and a 13.2% share
  3. Consulting & Similar Services: one contract and a 2.6% share
  4. Project Implementation: one contract and a 2.6% share.

Europe leads generation equipment activity in February 2022

Comparing contracts activity in generation equipment segment in different regions of the globe, Europe held the top position with 18 contracts and a share of 47.4% during February 2022, followed by Asia-Pacific with 12 contracts and a 31.6% share and North America with four contracts and a 10.5% share.

Solar is leading technology for generation equipment contracts in February 2022

Among the technologies, solar accounted for 14 contracts with a 36.8% share, followed by wind with nine contracts and a 23.7% share and thermal with seven contracts and an 18.4% share.
